On March Friday 27, 2026 at approximately 2:19 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded with Emergency Medical Services to a single vehicle injury traffic collision on Victoria Avenue south of Gonzales Road. Officers arrived and found an overturned a 2011Toyota Camry in the strawberry fields west of Victoria Avenue.


Officers and EMS attended to the four occupants of the vehicle, including at least one who had to be extricated, and two others who appeared to have been ejected during the collision. All occupants suffered injuries ranging from moderate to life-threatening, and were transported to local hospitals.

Based on the initial investigation, officers believe the Toyota Camry was traveling southbound Victoria Avenue at a high speed. For unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a utility box and fence, and rolled over at least one time until coming to a rest upside down.


Items at the scene indicate drugs, including nitrous oxide, may have contributed to this collision. Speed also may have been a contributing factor to the collision.
The 18-year-old driver from Port Hueneme, was listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The conditions of the passengers, all of whom are juveniles, are unknown but do not appear to be life-threatening.
