On Saturday, September 12, 2026, at approximately 5:32 PM, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the area of Edison Dr and McWane Blvd regarding a suspicious subject in possession of a rifle. Additionally, officers were notified that a 30-year-old male had been dropped off at a local hospital by a private party with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
At approximately 6:15 PM, a second shooting victim, a 34-year-old male, arrived at a local hospital via private party with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
While on scene, officers observed a vehicle matching the description of one of the private party transport vehicles. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle as it fled the area, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. Two suspects were taken into custody at the termination of the pursuit near Del Norte Blvd and Sakioka Dr. One firearm was recovered. Both suspects were arrested for evading, resisting arrest, and firearms charges. It does not appear they were directly involved in the shooting.
Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.
At this time, it appears that the two shooting victims were involved in an altercation on Edison Dr and exchanged gunfire.
Both shooting victims remain hospitalized and are in stable condition.
