Ventura County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters Michelle Ascencion announced the extension of the nomination period for the following County offices that are scheduled to be voted on in the June 2, 2026 Statewide Primary Election. Per state law, the nomination period for the below offices is extended when an eligible incumbent officer does not file nomination papers before the March 6, 2026, 5:00 PM deadline. A contest is ineligible for an extension even though the incumbent is not running when the incumbent has met their term limit for that office.

Nominations for these offices have a five-day extension period that closes on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 5 PM:

• United States Representative, 26th Congressional District

• County Auditor-Controller

• County Treasurer-Tax Collector

The nomination extension does not apply to incumbents who are ineligible to run for the seat since they didn’t file during the regular nomination period.
