The Veterans Day parade will begin at 9 a.m. on S. B Street, starting at the corner of W. Third Street and traveling south on B Street around Plaza Park. Community members are encouraged to view the parade on B Street, between Third Street and Fifth Street. Featured parade participants include the Disabled American Veterans Ventura Chapter 24,
United States Naval Sea Cadets Corp, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association 33110 and the Oxnard High School Air Force JROTC.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:11 a.m. at Plaza Park. This year’s special guest speakers are US Army Veteran Captain Daniel W. Brown Commanding Officer, Naval Base Ventura County; Commissioner Jess Herrera, Oxnard Harbor District; and Reverend John Love, Lt. Colonel Air National Guard Chaplain US Space Command.
“It’s an important Oxnard tradition to honor our local Veterans for their bravery in defending our freedom,” said Mayor John C. Zaragoza. “As someone who comes from a family with generations of members who have served in World War II and Afghanistan, we are forever grateful for their selfless service to our country. We look forward to recognizing all who served in the US Armed Forces on this holiday.”
