The County of Ventura has received a Gold Award in the 6th Annual Healthcare Digital Marketing Awards for its Think Again Ventura County website, a centralized, digital resource supporting the County’s ongoing fentanyl awareness campaign. The national awards program, which recognizes excellence in healthcare marketing and digital communications, received entries from hospitals, health systems, and public health organizations across the country.

The County of Ventura website, created in partnership with Fraser Communications, earned top honors in the Microsite category, distinguishing itself among a highly competitive field of digital healthcare marketing and communications efforts. The award-winning Think Again Ventura County site, located at ThinkAgainVC.com, is part of a broader initiative to combat the presence of fentanyl in Ventura County. The microsite delivers local data, life-saving resources, and public education. It also supports the County’s goal of reaching residents across all age groups and backgrounds with clear, actionable information.
“Receiving a national award for our digital work is an honor, but more importantly, it reflects the County’s deep commitment to public health and safety, ensuring residents have information and resources that can empower them to save lives,” said Dr. Sevet Johnson, County Executive Officer. “Think Again is about helping people recognize the risks and take steps to protect their families and communities.”
The Think Again campaign, launched in 2024, is led by the County of Ventura through the Community Overdose Awareness and Solutions Team (COAST). The campaign, which was developed in response to rising concerns over fentanyl-related overdoses across Ventura County, encourages residents to “Get Educated, Be Aware, and Save Lives” through widespread outreach and public education efforts.
Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid up to 50 times stronger than heroin, is increasingly found in counterfeit pills and other street drugs. Even a tiny amount can be fatal. The Think Again campaign was uniquely designed for Ventura County residents and aims to increase awareness of these dangers, encourage conversations, and equip residents with resources that can save lives. The website is part of a larger multimedia effort that includes billboards, bus ads, social media, community forums, and partnerships with local community-based organizations.
The County joins a list of 2025 HDMAwards Gold winners that includes major healthcare institutions and public agencies across the United States. The full list is available at hdmawards.com.
