On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at approximately 9:30 P.M., Oxnard Police Officers responded to the 1700 block of Oneida Place, in the City of Oxnard regarding a report of a stabbing victim. Officers located the victim, a 40-Year-Old female, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officers provided immediate first aid to the victim, who was then transported to the Ventura County Medical Center, where she underwent emergency surgery and is listed in critical condition. Officers located evidence of the assault at the scene. Officers also located Tanya Ramirez at the crime scene.


Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation. Based on information from the crime scene and witness statements, Detectives arrested Tanya Ramirez a 33-year-old Oxnard resident, for attempt murder. Ramirez was booked at the Ventura County Jail on attempt murder charges.
