On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at about 10:27 am, Oxnard Police Officers responded to the 400 block of North Bonita Avenue in Oxnard regarding an assault victim. When officers arrived, they located the victim a 17-year-old male in front of a residence suffering from several stab wounds. He was transported to Ventura County Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery and is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
From initial reports, officers believed the suspect, a Hispanic male in his 20s, had fled into a residence at the scene. A perimeter was established, and Oxnard Police Department SWAT responded. After several hours of attempting contact with the suspect, SWAT operators made entry into the residence, but did not locate anyone inside.
The motive for the assault is unknown. Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
