On March 12, 2026, at approximately 1:15 AM, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to reports of a stabbing victim in the emergency room at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.
Officers contacted a 22-year-old male victim who was suffering from multiple stab wounds to his lower torso. The injuries were serious but not life-threatening. The victim stated he was attacked and stabbed by two male suspects in a parking lot in the 2000 block of East Pleasant Valley Road in Oxnard.
Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) took over the investigation. Investigators gathered enough evidence to identify the suspects as 19-year-old Diego Arellano and 18-year-old Alexis Arellano, both from Oxnard.
On March 13, 2026, Oxnard Police Officers contacted Alexis Arellano in the 2600 block of El Dorado Ave. He attempted to flee from the officers but was eventually detained. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injuries that required surgery, and conspiracy.
On March 17, 2026, VCU investigators located Diego Arellano in the 4700 block of Hamilton Avenue. He was contacted by members of the Special Enforcement Unit and arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injuries that required surgery, and conspiracy.
