Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that Dustin Ronald Alba, a 31-year-old-man from Oxnard, was sentenced to 111 years to life in state prison for the rape and sexual assault of five women. On June 9, 2025, a jury convicted Alba of nine felony counts of forcible sex acts, including rape, sodomy, and attempted forcible rape. The jury also found true several special allegations and aggravating factors, including there being multiple victims, the victims were vulnerable, and Alba abused a position of trust. Four of Alba’s victims provided victim impact statements to the court at the sentencing hearing.

Deputy District Attorney Rosa Romero, a member of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Sexual Assault Unit, prosecuted the case.

“The defendant’s sexual violence caused profound harm to many victims, warranting the sentence imposed,” Ms. Romero said. “While nothing can erase the pain endured, it is my hope that the victims will begin to heal.”

Alba’s crimes took place from 2012 to 2020, occurring in Thousand Oaks, Oxnard, and
Los Angeles. The victims, many of whom met Alba through dating apps or social media, describe dating or messaging with Alba before being forced into sexual acts, despite repeated pleas for him to stop. He would use his body weight to pin down the victims and ignore their objections.

In August of 2020, Alba met in person with a woman he had recently exchanged messages with on a dating app. The victim told him ahead of their meeting that she was not looking to “hook up.” They spent the day together and ended up back at his Oxnard residence. Alba ripped her clothing, pulled her onto the bed, and proceeded to digitally penetrate and rape her, against her will. Terrified, the victim complied with his demands. Once free, she reported what happened to police.

As the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office investigated that case, Alba’s cell phone was searched and provided detectives with text messages showing other women who had been victimized, sexually assaulted, and raped by Alba. Further investigation into Alba’s history of sexual assault led to four additional victims.
