On Thursday, May 5th, 2022, at approximately 6:40 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1100 blk. of Hull Pl. Officers contacted the driver who was identified as Javier Hernandez a 19-year-old Oxnard resident.
Officers noticed open alcoholic beverage containers in the vehicle and removed the occupants to conduct a search. During the search, officers located a loaded semi-automatic handgun that was concealed in a bandana. Javier was arrested for several felony firearms violations. Officers later learned that Javier is on probation for committing a felony assault likely to produce great bodily injury, out of Santa Barbara County. Javier is also a documented criminal street gang member out of Santa Barbara County.
