On Thursday, December 9, 2021, Oxnard patrol officers were in the area of Piedmont and Hill Street when they heard several gunshots nearby. The Officers began searching the area and located a 33-year-old male gunshot victim in the roadway of the frontage road of Ventura Road, north of Hill Street. The victim sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.
