On Thursday, November 25, 2021, at 1:53 a.m., officers with the Oxnard Police Department were dispatched to the 400 block of South Oxnard Boulevard reference a subject firing a firearm up in the air during an altercation. The alleged suspect was last seen fleeing the area northbound on Oxnard Boulevard in a red Jeep Cherokee. Responding officers located the vehicle by the gas pumps of the Arco Station located at 105 South Oxnard Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle was contacted by officers and was identified as Jesus Magana Herrera (25yrs) of Santa Maria. 

During a search of Herrera’s vehicle, a loaded Glock 9mm semi-automatic handgun was located under the driver seat of the vehicle. The firearm came back as a stolen firearm out of Las Vegas, Nevada.
