An Oxnard man who tried to get aggressive with patrol officers who pulled his car over for a vehicle code violation has been charged with felony possession and transportation of methamphetamine.

After Jose Lopez, 42, was stopped on Aug. 11 near Wooley Road and Oxnard Boulevard, he got out of his car and demanded to know why he was order to stop.

A warrant check revealed Lopez had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for his arrest, giving officers the reason to search his car. The search turned up several small bags of methamphetamine, and so detectives from OPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit were sent to search his nearby motel room, where police found records of drug sales, packaging, a scale and 29 more bags of meth.
