Terry Shook

On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, the Thousand Oaks Police Property Crimes Investigative Unit located and apprehended Terry Shook, 32 years, Woodland Hills resident, for committing multiple thefts and identity theft crimes in Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Los Angeles County.

On June 2 and 3, 2021, multiple residents reported thefts from unlocked vehicles and open garages in the area of Cresthaven Drive, in Thousand Oaks. One victim’s wallet was stolen from her car and within hours the credit cards were fraudulently used at seven locations in Woodland Hills. Detectives were able to obtain video of the suspect, his vehicle and using law enforcement databases were able to positively identify the suspect as Terry Shook.

On July 4, 2021, at about 3:00 a.m., a suspect was seen on high quality video forcing open two drop boxes for businesses in the city of Camarillo. The suspect stole checks from both locations and deposited them into an account. Investigators reviewed the video and were able to positively identify Shook as the suspect.

Shook has a criminal history and is a transient who moves between Los Angeles County and Ventura County. With persistence and diligent police work, investigators located Shook and took him into custody. A search of his vehicle revealed stolen mail, stolen driver’s licenses, and stolen credit cards from Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Los Angeles County. Shook was also in possession of an airsoft gun, ammunition, a baton, and controlled substances.

Shook is on Post Release Community Supervision (PCRS), has an active warrant for his arrest by the U.S. Marshall’s for a fraud violation, and has a felony warrant from Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department for a violation of PCRS.

Thousand Oaks Police investigators arrested Shook for his outstanding warrants, identity theft, a felon in possession of ammunition, and possession of personal identifying information with prior convictions.

Camarillo Police Investigators arrested Shook for vandalism, identity theft and forgery. The court has set his bail at $250,000 and his arraignment date is set for July 9, 2021.
