On Saturday, June 26, 2021, between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 1:30 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted DUI/Driver’s license checkpoints and DUI saturation patrol in the City of Oxnard. The checkpoint was conducted in the southbound lanes of Rose Avenue south of Camino Del Sol. The location was chosen due to an increase in alcohol-related arrests and/or DUI collisions in the area. The DUI Saturation Patrols were conducted throughout the city limits.
The checkpoints resulted in the following:
• 896 vehicles through
• 2 DUI alcohol arrest
• 26 citations issued to unlicensed drivers and suspended licenses
The Oxnard Police Department will continue to conduct DUI enforcement operations this year. These operations are an effort to reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes and to make our roadways and community safer. We also remind people that if they see an impaired driver to dial 911.
