The Moorpark City Council is now accepting applications for appointment the Moorpark Planning Commission to fill one vacancy for the unexpired portion of the existing term concluding on December 31, 2022.

Planning Commissionapplicants must be a resident of the City of Moorpark, registered to vote in Moorpark and, where possible, have special knowledge in the fields of real property, construction, law, zoning, architecture, or related subjects.  The Planning Commission regular meeting schedule is the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  The Commission considers such matters as the general plan, specific plans, re-zonings, use permits, and subdivisions. The Planning Commission is also the City Council’s advisor on land use planning.  Planning Commissionersreceive compensation for their attendance at each meeting of the Commission as approved by resolution of the City Council.

Applicants will be required to attend a regular City Council meeting to make a brief presentation on qualifications and interest in the appointment.  Failure to make a presentation shall result in disqualification for appointment.

Applications are available on the City’s website at www.moorparkca.gov/serve.  Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2021.
