Ventura County Acting District Attorney Cheryl M. Temple announced that Tim Gautier, 55 year-old, of Thousand Oaks has been charged with the murder of his wife, Gina Gautier, which occurred on January 11, 2021. The complaint charges one count of murder with a special allegation that Gautier personally discharged a firearm during the commission of the crime.
Shortly before 7:00 a.m. on January 11, 2021, Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2300 block of Fountain Crest Lane, in Thousand Oaks. Deputies found Ms. Gautier inside her apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where she died of her injuries. Deputies arrested Gautier at the scene and located a firearm in the apartment. On January 13, 2021, Gautier appeared in court for arraignment on the murder charge. He pled not guilty and set the case for an early disposition conference on January 25, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Gautier bail was set at $750,000.
