Carl Mullins

A deputy assigned to the Moorpark Patrol Station attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Rocky Peak Road and Santa Susana Pass Road in Simi Valley, for traffic violations. The driver, who was identified as (s) Carl Mullins, 61 years, resident of Simi Valley, refused to pull over and a vehicle chase began which traveled east into Los Angeles County. The California Highway Patrol assumed the pursuit, which eventually terminated in the area of Havenhurst Avenue, in the city of Encino.

Mullins was arrested at the conclusion of the pursuit and a search of Mullins and his vehicle revealed approximately 283 grams of methamphetamine, 30 grams of heroin, 663 grams of marijuana, 42 individual Suboxone packets, drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash. Additionally, Mullins possessed a fraudulent California driver’s license, switchblade knife, and a stun gun. Mullins was also suspected of being under the influence of narcotics.

Following the pursuit and arrest, a search warrant was served on Mullins’ home located in the 7000 block of Thompson Lane, in the Ventura County area adjacent to Chatsworth. Narcotics detectives searched the residence and found approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, 415 grams of marijuana, a threaded barrel 9MM pistol capable of accepting a silencer, a KelTec Sub 200 rifle, a Sterling .25 caliber handgun, and 9MM ammunition.

Mullins was booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility where he was held in lieu of $310,000.00 bail.
