On Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at approximately 10 am, detectives from the Oxnard Police Department Property Crimes Unit were in the area of Ventura Road and “N” Street in the city of Oxnard, when they observed a wanted felon, Luis Saldaña, 29 years old, riding as a passenger in a white older model sedan.
Detectives attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver, Mayra Yepez, 24 years old, refused to stop the vehicle. After a brief vehicle pursuit, the vehicle pulled over near the intersection of Bottlebrush Place and Bottlebrush Court. Saldaña was arrested for his felony warrant, and Yepez was arrested for felony evading with a vehicle.
Saldana’s felony warrant was issued for his arrest because he violated the terms of his Post Release Offender (PRO) status. Saldana has eight (8) prior arrests related to auto theft, and six (6) prior arrests for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Yepez has a prior arrest for possession of a stolen vehicle.
