On Monday, September 14, at approximately 7:50 p.m. officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction.  The driver, identified as Alexis Sandova, a 26 year-old resident of Port Hueneme, failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.  The pursuing officer cancelled the pursuit as Sandoval began to drive with a willful and wanton disregard for the safety of others.

After discontinuing the pursuit, the officer checked westbound Wooley Rd. and located Sandoval running south across Wooley Rd.  The officer observed that the vehicle Sandoval was driving appeared to have collided with the western curb of Novato just north of Wooley Rd.  Sandoval was ultimately apprehended in the 1100 blk. of Novato.

A female passenger, identified as Daniella Arbizu, a 25 year-old Oxnard resident ,was also observed fleeing from the vehicle Sandoval was driving.  She was located in the 1000 blk of Novato and arrested for a felony warrant for child abuse.  Sandoval and Arbizu stated they both suffered injuries from the traffic collision.  Sandoval was charged with felony evading, hit and run causing injury, and a parole violation. Sandoval is on parole for assault with a deadly weapon.
