Feeding the frontline workers
A group of Latino and immigrant rights activists based in Ventura County are taking action to support the farmworker community during COVID-19. Feeding the Frontline has hosted nine events since April, providing over 3,000 farmworkers and their families with 80 tons of warm meals, groceries, and personal protective equipment. The events have taken place in Oxnard, Santa Paula, Fillmore, and Piru. The group’s next event will take place from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. this Saturday, May 16th at Rio Plaza Elementary School (600 Simon Way Oxnard, California 93036). Those interested in supporting the group’s efforts are welcome to donate to its GoFundMe campaign.
