Mayor Tim Flynn of the city of Oxnard, California launched his campaign for re-election for mayor on July 9, 2016 with a Kickoff event at the Oxnard Historic Farm Park. Over a hundred supporters attended the fund raising event. Supporters were treated to a Santa Maria BBQ and live music by a local band.

Daniel, a lifelong resident of Oxnard believes he can bring positive change in the form of trust, unity and mutual respect to the city of Oxnard. His first priority is public safety.

Bryan’s campaign will focus on three issues, public safety, business development, (Economic Gardening), and public trust in city government.

Larry Stein of the city of Oxnard, California launched his campaign for city treasurer on August 10, 2016 with a kickoff event at China Square Restaurant in downtown Oxnard. Larry, a CPA has worked in the private sector for 25 years. Larry attends city council meetings regularly and monitors the city finances and reports his finding to the public.

Steve Huber City Council Candidate Oxnard city council candidate Steve Huber held a campaign kickoff event at Fresh and Fabulous Restaurant in downtown Oxnard. Steve Huber’s priorities are to restore leadership, of which he has much experience as commander of a naval ship and Commander of the Naval Surface Warfare group, with 1800 people and $600 million dollar annual budget.

Peter De Domenico launch his campaign for Oxnard City Clerk on September 10, 2016 at La Vero’s Restaurant in downtown Oxnard. Peter intends to greatly expand online services available to the public, seek outside grants to fund projects to digitize as much of the city's archives as possible, and strictly enforce Political Reform Act policies to guarantee the municipal election process is fair and transparent.

State Of The City Address The Oxnard Inter-Neighborhood Council Organization, (INCO) held its second annual town hall meeting on September 7, 2016. The event featured Mayor Tim Flynn who delivered the State of the City address. In it, the mayor spoke of the City’s accomplishments in the past year and the challenges up ahead. The State Of The City address was followed by a question and answer session in which Mayor Flynn and Oxnard City Manager Greg Nyhoff fielded questions from residents in attendance. Oxnard City Mayor, Council, Clerk, Treasurer candidates The GOOD Club, (Greater Oxnard Organization of Democrats), held an Oxnard and Port Hueneme candidates forum on September 14, 2016 at Café On A in downtown, Oxnard, California. Candidate for positions in governance entities in these cities gave opening statement outlining their experience and qualifications. They answered several questions relative to the position from members of the public. • To serve as the official voice of the Democratic Party of Oxnard and Port Hueneme and contiguous areas. • To carry out duties in conformity with the election Code of the State of California. • To work with the Democratic National Committee, the California State Democratic Committee, and the Ventura County Democratic Central Committee in citywide and countywide activities to elect Democrats and • To enable the Democratic Party to function at the grassroots level. • To organize and maintain a precinct organization that will be in place for each Primary, General, and Special Election.

Tiffany Lopez - City Clerk Campaign Kickoff September 12, 2016 Tiffany Lopez, a lifelong and fourth generation resident of the city of Oxnard, California held a campaign kickoff event for the office of Oxnard City Clerk on September 11, 2016. Tiffany, who is the daughter of former Oxnard city mayor Dr. Manuel Lopez and community activist Irma Lopez wants to strengthen the Oxnard community. Her goals are to bring public access to timely and accurate municipal information to ensure transparency and to increase public involvement and engagement in our city’s residents and future voters. She wants bring greater collaborating and communication between city advisory groups, (CAGs), such as the Inter Neighborhood Council Organization, (INCO).

Oxnard Harbor District Candidates Forum September 16, 2016 Four out of the six candidates for the Oxnard Harbor District Commission participated in a candidate’s forum sponsored by the “Good Club at Café On A” in downtown, Oxnard California. Mike Barber a retired ironworker, Laura Gallardo a retired educator, Jess J. Ramirez a longshoreman, and Martin Jones a retired Realtor attended the event. Incumbents commissioners Arlene Naomi Fraser and Manuel M. Lopez a retired optometrist did not attend. Irma Lopez, Manuel M. Lopez’s wife stood in as a surrogate for her husband. Those present gave opening statement outlining their experience and qualifications. They answered several harbor related questions from members of the public followed by closing statements regarding what they would hope to accomplish if elected to the commission.

Vianey Lopez - Incumbent Candidate For Hueneme School District Vianey Lopez a resident of Oxnard since 1992 is running for re-election to the Hueneme School District. Vianey was first elected to the Hueneme Elementary School District Board in 2012. Vianey is a product of the Hueneme Elementary School District and a Hueneme High School graduate. In 2009 Vianey earned her BS in business administration at Loyola Marymount University. Vianey earned her Masters in Public Policy from Pepperdine University with emphasis in international relations and state and local policy. Vianey serves on the board of directors for Future Leaders of America, Inc. and the League of United Latin American Citizens Young Professionals and is actively involved with the Ventura County Women’s Political Council. Vianey believes in the power of education and equal learning opportunities. Parent involvement is just as important as a teacher’s job in the academic success of a student. Ensuring a safe and comfortable learning environment motivates Vianey to get involved in the community.

Al Jones Kickoff Al Jones who is a 50 years resident of the city of Oxnard, held a campaign kickoff for Oxnard City Treasurer on September 18, 2016 with a breakfast event at Casa Lopez Restaurant in downtown Oxnard, California. Al, a veteran of the United States Air Force and who proudly served his country with honor, is retired from the banking industry. Al Jones was a Regional Vice President who managed and protected more than $250 million dollars in bank assets. Al Jones has been selected as the Oxnard Police Activities League’s Citizen of the year, the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce Man of the year, and the NAACP Citizen of the year for his service to the community.

Phillip has over 25 years working for four cities in the state of California. In those cities, Phillip served as the City Treasurer, the city CFO and the Finance Director.
